08/07/99 TT the Bears, Cambridge, MA: Cave In, At the Drive In, Bluetip, Eulcid
All Ages show. Boston area. in a bar. wow. too bad i was like one of three kids there under 18. what's with not supporting the all ages scene? this would be a great spot to do sunday/saturday all ages matinees, but with the support this show got from the under 18 crowd, i doubt that will happen soon.
Eulcid opened. They're a great band. DC-y. They played "Polite Guest" and some other songs too. Again, it's two months later and i forget cuz i'm ever so terrible at writing show reviews on time. :(
Bluetip went on next and I forget what they were like. They're from DC and on Dischord Records. I didn't like them but I didn't not like them. That's all I remember.
At the Drive In have to contend with Jejune as one of the best live bands I've ever seen. They played a whole bunch of songs off "in//casino//out" and i would say which ones except that the CD is upstairs and i don't know the names of the tracks. Put it this way, 2 afros, maracas, keyboards, and big boomboxes. Can't go wrong. MMMMMMMmmmmmm.
because of this, that's why I really really didn't like Cave In. THey used to be like my favorite band, but I'm not a big fan of their new stuff. I mean, I like it, but i want to hear "Crossbearer" or "MItigate" or "Flypaper" or "Chameleon" or something off "Beyond Hypothermia", but they only play songs that they sing to. I mean, the most brutal song they played was "The end of the rope is a noose" (or whatever it's called). No moshing. No finger poiting. Just bobbing heads.
